Drone Work in Isolated Regions
When undertaking drone-related work in regional rural locations, Australian Aerial Imagery ensures that lack of nearby accommodation is not an issue. With our fully equipped van specifically designed by Australian Aerial Imagery and has been totally custom manufactured for this exact purpose, we have all the necessary facilities and amenities on board. Whether it's the comfort of sleeping arrangements, cooking provisions, sanitation facilities, or communication equipment, our van provides a self-sufficient and convenient solution, allowing us to carry out our work seamlessly in remote areas without the need for external accommodation.
For Drone Work When Accommodation Is Not Available.
Australian Aerial Imagery takes great pride in its custom-designed and manufactured fully off-road caravan, specifically tailored to meet the unique requirements of undertaking drone thermal imaging wildlife surveys. This purpose-built caravan prioritizes safety, reliability, and convenience, offering a host of exceptional features.

Ensuring optimal performance in off-road conditions, the caravan features a fully independent, dual-axle suspension system with full off-road capabilities. It is equipped with two off-road spare tires that are interchangeable with the four-wheel-drive tow vehicle, ensuring readiness for any situation and enhancing overall safety.

The caravan's water storage capacity is designed to minimize environmental impact, with the ability to carry up to 330 liters of fresh drinking water. Additionally, a 110-liter gray water tank is incorporated to ensure responsible wastewater management and prevent pollution of the natural environment.

To address the need for sanitation during extended trips, the caravan is equipped with a composting toilet that can operate for weeks on end without needing to be emptied. This feature ensures convenience and reduces the team's impact on the environment.

Comfort and hygiene are paramount, and the caravan is fitted with two hot and cold showers—one inside and another outside. This allows the team members to refresh themselves conveniently, regardless of their location. Inside the caravan, full diesel cooking facilities are provided, while an electric induction cooktop is available for outdoor cooking, offering versatility and flexibility. A diesel hot water system supplies the van with ample hot water for various purposes.

For comfortable rest and relaxation, the caravan features two single beds. Power management is a priority, with a 3,000-watt inverter and a substantial 600Ah of lithium batteries. These batteries are efficiently charged by a 1,000-watt rooftop solar system, ensuring easy on-site charging of drone batteries and other essential electrical equipment. The van is fully fitted out with a comprehensive 12V and 240V electrical system, providing seamless power distribution throughout. The van features reverse cycle air conditioning that operates from its own 240V power supply, ensuring comfortable living conditions regardless of the external climate.

In terms of safety, the caravan exclusively utilizes diesel appliances, matching the fuel type of the four-wheel-drive tow vehicle. This eliminates the need for gas appliances, reducing potential hazards and ensuring compatibility within the setup. The van is also equipped with provisions to accommodate four 20-liter diesel jerry cans for extended travels, offering additional flexibility and independence.
Storage options within the caravan are designed to meet the team's needs, including a main fridge freezer, a secondary fridge freezer, and a third fridge. These storage facilities provide ample space for perishable items and supplies required during wildlife surveys.

The caravan's compact design ensures maneuverability in challenging terrain. With a lowered travel height slightly higher than the tow vehicle (2.200m), it can easily follow the tow vehicle into difficult locations. By utilizing the remote control unit, the caravan can extend to a height of 3.300m from the ground when fully raised. The overall width matches that of the tow vehicle, ensuring smooth navigation and ease of movement.

With remarkable ground clearance and a finished floor positioned 1.050m off the ground, the caravan offers an elevated perspective while maintaining stability and durability. The van is also equipped with six handheld two-way radios and a high-powered mobile radio, complete with dedicated frequencies, ensuring secure and reliable two-way radio communications within the team. Additionally, the Telstra Cel Fi Go mobile phone repeater greatly enhances mobile phone communications in areas with poor reception, facilitating phone calls and internet access.

Despite its strength and inclusions, the caravan is exceptionally light and well-insulated, ensuring ease of towing and comfort for the team. These features combine to make this purpose-built van the ideal solution for Australian Aerial Imagery's drone-related work conducted in remote and challenging locations.
